World Competition Day 2021

On December 5, 2021, the Jamaica Fair Trading Commission (FTC) joins the world in commemorating World Competition Day under the theme, “Competition Policy for an Inclusive and Resilient Economy”

The FTC’s response to various challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic has been robust, through increased dialogue with the private sector, collaboration with sector regulators and Government agencies.

On December 5, we will be publishing an article in the Sunday Gleaner and we will release a video that speaks on the theme for World Competition Day.  On December 6, Mr. David Miller, Executive Director of the FTC will appear on Ralston Hyman’s radio talk show on Power 106FM. Finally, on December 8, we will be hosting the annual Shirley Playfair Lecture, which will be held virtually.  Professor Steven Calkins from the Wayne State University will present the Lecture.
