FTC researches bundling in telecommunication services such as triple-play offerings where separate services such as subscriber television, telephone & internet services are packaged as a single service. Consumers may be impacted negatively or positively from bundling. Factors such as the extent of market power held by providers, the structure of the markets for these services, the types of services bundled, and price discounts offered, may determine whether consumers benefit or whether they are harmed.
