On November 6 and 7, 2025, our General Manager, Miss Ann-Marie Grant, took part in the First Regional Consultation on Competition Policy (the Consultation), held in Bridgetown, Barbados. The event focused on advancing the implementation of the Rules of Competition under Chapter Eight of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.
The Consultation brought together representatives from national competition authorities across the CSME and Aruba. Discussions covered the CARICOM Model Bill on mergers and acquisitions and a draft Memorandum of Understanding between national competition authorities and sector regulators on competition matters. The programme also featured a panel discussion on strategies for the implementation of the Community Competition Policy, with particular attention to establishing national competition authorities in Member States that do not yet have such authorities.
