The Fair Trading Commission advises that any action that might be in the contemplation of competing gasoline dealers, to close their stations in support of Esso dealers’ current protest activity amounts to a breach of the Fair Competition Act.
Section 18 of the Act prohibits persons who are in competition with each other from agreeing to prevent, restrict or limit the supply of goods or services to any particular person or class of persons; and the Commission therefore advises strongly against any such action.
